German women often worked in a vast number of nurseries under Nazi rule displaying woman’s primary role in the Third Reich: motherhood. Women were primarily seen as simple means of reproduction. Those who agitated for political emancipation of women were often labeled as supporters of Bolshevism or Judaism and quickly silenced. However, not all women avoided playing an active part in support of the Nazi Party. Pictured in object 7 are the “League of German Girls” which was a girl's and young women’s alternative to the infamous Hitler Youth. These women would go on to provide labor for the Nazi party as the nearly 4,000 women which would serve as Euthanasia nurses or concentration camps guards. [4]
